绝地武士战胜西斯学徒后十年，银河共和国再次面临威胁，前绝地武士杜库伯爵（克里斯托弗•李 Christopher Lee 饰）鼓动数千星系与共和国决裂，并筹建大批机器人军队为政变做准备
纳布星的阿米达拉（娜塔丽·波特曼 Natalie Portman 饰）结束女王任期后以议员身份抵达考路斯坎星，决意为组建共和军队投出关键一票
